Who we are

About COCIN TEE

Established to address the growing need for trained Christian workers, COCIN TEE has become one of Nigeria's leading extension theological institutions. Through flexible and accessible learning, it enables believers to receive quality theological education without leaving their homes, churches, workplaces, or communities.

Today, COCIN TEE continues to prepare men and women for ministry, discipleship, evangelism, leadership, and community transformation while remaining firmly rooted in biblical truth.

Five decades of impact

Our History

Theological Education by Extension (TEE) in COCIN has made a remarkable impact on the growth of the Church over the past five decades.

The institution began as a training programme designed to equip catechists and church workers who had little or no formal theological education. Many evangelists (Mai Bishara) who entered ministry during the 1970s received their first theological training through TEE.

From its humble beginnings as a certificate and diploma awarding institution, COCIN TEE has grown into a fully recognized degree-awarding theological institution.

By focusing on the training of pastors and lay members alike, the institution has strengthened biblical literacy throughout COCIN congregations. Today, many church members possess sound theological understanding that enables them to effectively support pastoral ministry while maintaining humility and unity within the Church.

TEE has played a significant role in ensuring that the African Church is biblically grounded, spiritually mature, and equipped for ministry.

What we believe

Our Philosophy

COCIN TEE operates a Christ-centered extension theological education programme dedicated to equipping believers for effective service in the Church and society.

Our philosophy is founded on Ephesians 4:12–13 and 2 Timothy 3:16–17, emphasizing spiritual maturity, biblical knowledge, practical ministry, and Christian character.

The programme seeks to develop:

  • 01

    Spiritual Formation

    through practical biblical learning.

  • 02

    Strong Discipleship

    that nurtures believers toward maturity.

  • 03

    Christian Character

founded on integrity, humility, and faithful service.

  • 04

    Leadership Development

for effective ministry and community transformation.

  • 05

    Biblical Competence

for defending sound doctrine and teaching God's Word.

Our Vision

To be a leading extension theological institution with well-equipped staff and quality learning facilities, providing excellent theological education that equips pastors, missionaries, lay leaders, and church members to serve God faithfully while guarding the Church against false teaching.

Our Mission

To glorify God by providing sound biblical and theological education that equips Christian leaders and believers for effective ministry, discipleship, leadership, evangelism, and service to humanity.
